Don’t worry. We’re here to help. This post includes suggested sessions that focus on one of the following areas:

Thinking of attending the Summit of Awesome only on Thursday, October 20? The full schedule is available here, and below here’s a rundown in more details of the first half of Thursday’s line-up.
The morning kicks off at 9:30 a.m. with registration, breakfast and time to make your own name badge at the Make Something Awesome Area. After welcoming remarks, the first morning sessions begin. They last from 10:45 a.m. to 12 noon.
In the workshop Unblocking Your Creativity with Danielle Maveal (pictured at right), you’ll learn how to break through artistic ruts you may find yourself in. Danielle will walk you through some simple techniques designed to get your creative juices flowing again.
The workshop Screen Printing with Christy Petterson will teach you simple screen printing techniques. You will have the chance to try your hand at screenprinting yourself and print a design onto a handkerchief. You may also bring a cotton t-shirt, scarf or tote bag to print on instead if you’d like.
In the session Community, Mafias, and Street Teams with Rachel Bone, Jen Menkhaus and Isaac Watson a discussion will be led on how to connect with your local crafting community. This year the Summit of Awesome Craftnotes are Jay McCarroll and Debbie Stoller and Laurie Henzel of BUST. We couldn’t be more excited to have these crafty superstars join us!
Fashion designer Jay McCarroll is best known for winning season 1 of Project Runway, as well as his appearance on season 7 of Celebrity Fit Club. He recently launched his new website and shop jaymccarrollonline.com where his accessories, bags and clothes for men a
nd women are for sale.
BUST co-founders Laurie Henzel and Debbie Stoller, pictured right, launched the magazine back in 1993. Today they are its co-owners, co-publishers and co-creators — Henzel is the creative director and Stoller is the editor in chief. Stoller is also the author of the Stitch ‘n Bitch knitting and crocheting book series and coauthor of the BUST Guide to the New Girl Order.
Debbie and Laurie will give the Craftnote “DIY or Die: How we started and maintained our DIY business for 18 years and counting” on Thursday, October 20, from 12 noon to 1:30 pm. You can also catch Debbie and Laurie right after the Craftnote for their afternoon session from 1:45 to 3 p.m. on Shameless Self-Promotion.
On Friday, October 21, Jay McCarroll, pictured below, gives his Craftnote during lunch from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. He’ll talk
about how he got started in the fashion industry, what inspires him followed by a Q&A session.

Now on sale are one and two-day passes to the Summit of Awesome! These are perfect for attendees who have time commitments and cannot make all three days of the conference or are only interested in experiencing certain programming. You can purchase your pass of choice to the Summit of Awesome here.

The Two-Day Summit Pass is for Thursday, October 20 and Friday, October 21. The pass priced at $150 gives you access to any of our learning sessions and workshops taking place on those days.
The One-Day Summit Pass is for your choice of Thursday, October 20, Friday, October 21 or Saturday, October 22. The price for a pass on Thursday or Friday is $100. The price for a pass on Saturday is $50.
Also new this year are special one-on-one sessions to either get your Etsy shop critiqued with Danielle Maveal, Etsy’s Seller Education Lead or pitch your craft book with literary agent Kate McKean! These sessions are both 15 minutes and Summit of Awesome registration is required to purchase a one-on-one session. You can choose the day you prefer to have your session and you will be assigned a slot and your session time will be emailed to you prior to the Summit.
