Day two of the Summit of Awesome recently came to a close at the Kennedy School. Now we’re all enjoying a little down time and preparing to head out to Land Gallery for tonight’s party. But first, a recap of day two in pictures from the Hello Craft camera.

The Make Something Awesome Area was set up for the entire duration of day two for attendees, speakers and volunteers to make sponsored projects. Today new projects included embroidery patterns from Sublime Stitching and an upcycled bag pattern by Dorothy Lewis of Grace is Enough.

The morning sessions and workshops began at 9:15 am.

Angie Heiney & Ali Wykhuis of Frock and Pat Castaldo & Aaron Tuller of BuyOlympia presented the session How to Run a Brick & Mortar Shop in Jordan.

Christy Petterson of a bardis was in the Gym with the workshop Screen Printing.

Bridget Benson of Eyes Aflame was also in the Gym with the workshop Encaustic Painting.

Richard Fox of DIY Lounge and Sinister Concept and Willo O’Brien of WilloToons presented a session on Using Social Media to Market Your Goods in Parsons.

Kim Werker of Mighty Ugly presented her workshop Mighty Ugly: Challenge Yourself to Make Some Ugly. Here’s a photo of the attendees finished projects.

There was lunch and an excellent Craftnote address with Pat and Aaron of BuyOlympia.

Next were the afternoon sessions and workshops from 1 to 5 pm.

Jen Neitzel of DIY Lounge was in the gym with her workshop on Embellishment.

Kari Chapin, author of The Handmade Marketplace, talked about Starting Your Crafty Business in Jordan.

Jena Coray of Modish and Kim Werker of Mighty Ugly presented How to Pitch a Magazine or Blog in Parsons (as well as the Etsy Virtual Labs).

There was also the Crafty Throwdown Hour in the gym presented by Hello Craft’s Kim Dorn and Christine Ernest.
