connective thread exhibition
Friday, January 15, 2010 16:08Here are some images of the opening and install of the fabulous connective thread exhibtion, I was so honored to curate this exhibition and blown away by the quality of work that was submitted. The curating process was so difficult – but in the end I felt like it was a very exciting and cohesive show. We had a very diverse group of work and artists but they were all connected by that connective thread…
Look at the awesome turn out we had at the opening. The gallery was packed from 7- well past 10. We went through 3 cases of wine and I think all had a good time.
Curating a group show is a lot of work, corresponding with many artists all with individual needs, promoting the show and opening, designing the cards, and orchestrating the opening. But is has been so rewarding. It is almost as rewarding as having a show of my own. Afterall, it was my visual eye that put the artist together and installed them in the orientation that they are in. Very satisfying, I cannot wait to do more.
I was so happy that so many people came out to see all these amazing artists work!
Let’s take a walk around the gallery.
And don’t forget that next Sunday, January 24, there will be an artist talk with a handful of the artists so you can learn more about the awesome work on exhibit!
